BDO adds Ghana to its growing number of territories across Africa
BDO can now call Ghana home, as the SCG Chartered Accountants joins its network, effective 2024.
“Our clients are everywhere and if we want to elevate our business and the societies in which we operate, we must be where they are. We cannot ignore opportunities to give BDO a name in a new market,” says Bonga Mokoena, CEO of BDO in South Africa. “We have the ambition to be the key service provider to the Africa and international markets and through this strategic opportunity in Ghana, we can achieve that.”
SCG Audit (now BDO Ghana) operates from one office in Accra. The 45 people strong firm was formed in 2009 to provide audit, tax, accounting, and payroll services to the Ghana market. With years of experience consulting to medium-sized companies across a range of industries. The Institute of Chartered Accountants, ICAG, uses a 6-tier ranking system to rank firms in Ghana. The topmost ranking is A1*. SCG is classified as A1 and is one of 7 firms ranked in that category.
